Arase Parelé
A multitalented Rukai artist known as the “Chameleon of Performing Arts,” Arase excels in hosting, theater, music, and songwriting. Hailing from the Rukai communities of Vudai (Pingtung) and Toladeka (Kaohsiung), he grew up navigating cultural differences that shaped his observational and cross-disciplinary creativity. Beginning with musical theater and live performances, Arase later collaborated with the Indigenous label Nanguaq, embarking on a journey of songwriting in his native language.
In 2025, he released his debut Rukai-language album AKA, which blends the Toladeka and Vudai dialects with contemporary pop arrangements. The album portrays his multifaceted life and cultural memories, presenting a modern interpretation of the lyrical beauty of the Rukai language.
Reloading Bros (HengJones & R.fu)
Reloading Bros is an Indigenous rap duo under the Nanguaq label, uniting Amis rapper HengJones and Sakiraya rapper R.fu. Their music channels Indigenous identity and street energy, bringing together cultural pride and hip-hop attitude.
HengJones is known for his deep, resonant voice and lyrical intensity. He first rose to fame with the viral hit “Turn Up”, before turning toward Indigenous cultural fusion. His 2022 track “Kaying (Girls)” established his distinctive sound.
R.fu, from the Puyuma-Amis community of Ruisui, Hualien, began creating in the Sakiraya language after joining the Maibul tribal youth group. Discovered by acclaimed artist ABAO, he became a key member of Nanguaq. Their debut collaboration “Zaljum (Water)” won the Golden Indie Music Award for Best Electronic Song.
